Carnival of Mobilists

I have categorized these posts in broad topics for your reading pleasure.

Antoine of Brighthand presents the values of Web 2.0 going mobile and how it can create new opportunities for all involved. In the same stream of thought here is a great presentation on Mobile 2.0 Startup Ecosystem from Rudy of M-Trends, which he presented at Mobile Web 2.0 conference in London.

Mark who is planning to attend Handheld Learning 2007 conference in London talks about the topics he will be presenting. My favorite is the one on Citizen Journalism.

SC Clock Tower

Paul from Mobile Point View looks at a new mobile travel application from Orbitz called Orbitz TLC. Here is something I can use the next time I travel.

Xen from Xellular Identity looks at a new custom ringtone maker from Mobicious. This space is getting some attention after iPhone’s announcement of adding a ringtone maker to iTunes.

Enrique introduces us to the “Mobile Context” and describes the positive effects of leveraging them to derive a better user experience. Check out his essay on the subject too.

Kevin from Vodafone Betavine looks at Turn based gaming (especially chess) as the next killer app for the mobile.

Mobile Industry News and Analysis

Recently Apple announced its exclusive partnership with O2 to offer its iPhone in UK. Tarek analyzes the deal for us and provides insights and comparison with the US offering.

SC Ferris Wheel

Katrin critically analyzes the much successful Grameen Village Phone program in Bangladesh and comments on the possible obsolescence of the program.

Andreas looks at Sun’s open source Java Policy and analyzes its impacts on the mobile industry.

Tomi and Alan of the Communities Dominate blog look at the SMS messaging phenomena and how revenues from it will cross $ 100 Billion in 2007.

Russell of MobHappy discusses the iterative development and process in the PC web world and compares it to similar processes in the mobile world. He also offers a critical analysis of Sun’s JME as a mobile platform.

Hope you enjoyed these posts. If I had to pick the Best Post of the Week, it would be from Katrin around the Grameen Village Program.

Don’t forget to submit your entries for next week. You can also host the carnival on your blog. Here is how.
